About Us
Our dentistry practice is built around the belief that dental care can be efficient, affordable, and often pain-free. Many patients tell us they used to be scared to go to the dentist, but after coming here, their fear disappeared.
Dr. Vainer is a UCLA-trained dentist dedicated to excellence. He is also approachable and easy to talk to. The registered dental assistants welcome your questions and are happy to offer advice without making you feel guilty if you don’t have a perfect oral health care routine. The front office staff are friendly and flexible, and will work with you to figure out scheduling and billing that works well for you.

DR. WILLIAM VAINER
Dentist
Dr. William Vainer is excited to join the Ukiah community after practicing in Santa Cruz. He graduated with a degree in Biology from University of California at Santa Cruz and a DDS from the University of California at Los Angeles. He enjoys surfing, hiking, skiing and biking on the weekends.
RACHEL ELAM
Front Office/Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)
Rachel was born and raised in Mendocino County. Her career in dentistry began in 1997 as a high school student. She continued her dental education and received her Registered Dental Assistant license in 2006. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, family, and friends.
AMANDA WRIGHT
Hygienist
Amanda is a lifelong Mendocino County resident. She received her degrees in dental hygiene from Santa Rosa Junior College and the Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry, San Francisco. Amanda takes a caring and therapeutic approach to dental hygiene and enjoys working with her patients to achieve optimal oral and systemic health.
MARIANNE GERSSING
Hygienist
Marianne attended UCSF and obtained her bachelor’s in dental hygiene. She enjoys being able to help people improve their oral hygiene and answer any questions they may have. In her spare time she enjoys scuba diving, horseback riding, and gardening.
SARA ANDERSON
Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)
Sara is a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) from Ukiah. She completed the MCOE Dental Assistant Program and obtained her RDA license in 2017. In 2024, she furthered her expertise by becoming a Certified Holistic Nutritionist through Bauman College. Sara’s passion for dentistry was inspired by her mother, who worked as an oral surgeon dental assistant.
KIMBERLY MACIAS
Dental Assistant
Kimberly was born and raised in Mendocino county. She started her dental journey in our office after graduating from MCOE in 2022. She’s currently working towards her RDA license. Kimberly enjoys spending time with family, trying new cuisines, and going on nature walks.
